Maternal Child Health

The Hill County Health Department currently has four Certified Lactation Counselors on staff.

Our Child Care Health Consultant works to assist child care facilities in maintaining a healthy environment. Every child care facility within Havre city limits is visited on a two year rotation. During these visits the following information is assessed/reviewed:

Children’s immunization records,
-
Injury prevention needs of children,
-
Disease reporting requirements,
-
And oral health for children.
Hill County Health Department has a grant through Montana Department of Health and Human Services to provide home visiting services to high-risk pregnant women, their infants, and infants identified at risk for special health care needs. These services are part of Montana’s comprehensive efforts to improve the maternal child health status in the state as outlined in Section 50-19-311, Montana Code Annotated.
